For medium to high rise projects, our Curtain Walling system has been developed as a structurally sound system to span glazing on a number of levels. It comprises a solid box mullion and transom construction which can be sleeved for reinforcement or connections. Continuous thermal isolator provides a thermal break between the internal structure and external pressure plate and caps. Frame sightlines are 50mm on face width and numerous internal box depths and cover caps are available. It is compatible with APS window and door systems for a complete façade package.
Testing
The curtain walling has undergone the rigorous ‘Dynamic’ test to CWCT standards and achieved
- Static Air Permeability 1.5m³/hr/m³ at 600 Pa
- Water Tightness 600 Pa Pass
- Static Water Penetration - Zero ml at 600 Pa
- Dynamic Water Penetration - Zero ml at 600 Pa
- Structural Performance - 2400 Pa
- Safety Gust Performance - 3600Pa
- Hose Pipe Water Test 22L/ 220k Pa
- Wind Pressure To Be In Accordance With BSG399 PT2
- Enhanced Security PAS24
Materials & Finishes
Aluminium alloy 6063 T5 + T6. Polyester powder coated finish to BS6496 thickness 60. There are over 400 RAL or BS colours in gloss, satin or matt finish. Dual colour option easily is also achievable
Construction
Mullion, pressure plate and cover caps are square cut. Transoms are square cut and milled to a stepped profile. Transoms are directly fixed to mullions with stainless steel screws and transom brackets. Drainage is achieved by the stepped profile. Pressure plates are secured by stainless steel screws along the mullions and transoms.
Glazing
High Rise curtain walling can accommodate glazing panels from 11.5mm to 34mm thickness. Dry glazed using high performance captive gaskets located in special grooves within the sections. Glazing support blocks aid drainage and ventilation.
