APS has provided architectural glazing systems for multiple Applegreen  stores, demonstrating our ability to deliver top-notch solutions to companies in the fuel and forecourt retail industry.       

When we saw Applegreen Dunshaughlin on M3 Co Meath feature in news releases lately due to its introduction of the first Taco Bell to Ireland we were keen to grab some photos as a great example.

Even though the store isn’t quite open yet, with only days to go, we thank the busy construction team on site who allowed us to take these photos to share.  We look forward to posting more photos when everything is completed and the store is open plus indulging in some tacos.

Our systems installed here include ACW curtain walling – 175mm transoms & 200mm mullions plus Solar Shading & ACW040 projection brackets, ACD commercial door,  AP200 resi door, AP134 therm+ windows and AFG flush glazing.

APS are pleased to continually be associated with Ulster University BSc Hons Architectural Technology & Management course. Last Friday was an opportunity for the students to display their course projects for a collaboration of advice. Guests are invited from the construction industry who share their experience and expertise individually with the students. Our own Kenny Faulkner has represented APS with the course for over 10 years
now.

This year’s attendance was very high and the students each displayed impressive, crafted models of their projects along with work in progress.

Well done to all the Year 4 students for all their efforts. They are now on the final push to complete their BSc Hons course. Keep up the momentum and excellent work!

We are pleased to see another APS installed project nearing completion. This is an apartment project in the centre of Bangor, Co. Down, NI and complements the original Savoy Hotel frontage that remains in place.

The project has seen the installation our AP134 Therm+ polyamide window system and our AP200 Therm+ Polyamide doors system.

The project consists of our window system having the corner windows curved on plan and an Art Deco architectural style with astragal bars applied. They are very impressive and aesthetically pleasing on the curved glass.

The project was installed and certified to “Secure By Design” requirements. Our APS range of systems have been successfully tested to the latest PAS24 security requirements.

APS is proud and excited to continue to sponsor Ethan Faulkner as he sets his sight on the British Sprint Championship this year, a big step up from competing in NI where he has had much success in the short period of time since taking up the sport.

Our highly experienced technical team, working in close consultation with leading fire experts have engineered a cutting-edge solution for fire safety offering both thermal and fire protection of up to 60 minutes.
Prioritizing public safety, the APS fire-rated door and screen systems are engineered to meet the stringent demands of both professional and residential environments, including office buildings, homes, and apartment complexes.
The photo demonstrates we’ve dedicated considerable time and financial resources to rigorous testing and design, ensuring full compliance with all current building legislation and the highest safety standards.
In the event of a fire, these systems play a critical role in protecting lives by containing the fire and facilitating safe escape routes, significantly increasing the chances of evacuation of occupants during an emergency.
Single Doors & Screens have passed both 60 minute EI:60 and 30 minute EI:30 fire testing (E ~ integrity I ~ Insulation).

It is rumoured that this recent order for RAL 3002 red RAL 9003 white profile to be powder coated and clipped by our team handling the alu-roller machine is for an avid Liverpool fan.  The investment in the aluroller machine to roll aluminium polyamide window & door sections with polyamide strip to help maximise thermal properties has been one of the most significant investments that APS has ever made.  It is also one of the busiest departments within the company as it maintains stocks of mill finish aluminium window and door profiles. We also offer the fantastic dual colour service as is the red and white order.  Perhaps we will get to see some finished window photos at some stage.

We are very proud to be associated with the recent construction of new student accommodation in Belfast.  We think that those settling into the new student accommodation at Bradbury Place are very fortunate.  The building designed by Rapport Architects and constructed by Mascott Construction contains over 150 bedrooms.  The design is a nod to the legacy of Belfast’s red brick warehouse architecture.  Various APS systems have been the preferred choice in the glazing of these to ensure maximum comfort and security.  This location is so close to Queen’s University (and very importantly the night life) and it is hoped it will invigorate Belfast’s Golden Mile.  We are really pleased to play our part in fulfilling all the freshers’ dream homes for the 2024/2025 year & we wish them well.

Ethan’s exciting winning streak continues in his APS sponsored sprint car at Kirkistown last weekend.  Impressive results from Ethan’s latest race last weekend at the British & Northern Ireland Sprint Championship. Fastest ever on full circuit layout for Class 14, a record that stood since 2011.  Huge congratulations Ethan

1st in Class 14  1st fast overall NI driver  2nd in British Champions (lost overall win by 0.4 seconds) Set and reset lap record for his class.

Everyone at APS is thrilled to congratulate John McCamphill from Ulster University School of Architecture, the winner of the 2023/2024 APS Award for the best project in “Design Creativity in the BIM module”. 

John was presented with the award and prize by our very own Kenny Faulkner at the end-of-year academic show earlier this summer. The event was a resounding success, attended by many who came to witness the exceptional work produced by the students.

The quality of the projects on display was impressively high, showcasing the hard work and creativity of the students. We extend our congratulations to John and all the students involved and wish them the best of luck in the next stages of their careers.
