It is rumoured that this recent order for RAL 3002 red RAL 9003 white profile to be powder coated and clipped by our team handling the alu-roller machine is for an avid Liverpool fan.  The investment in the aluroller machine to roll aluminium polyamide window & door sections with polyamide strip to help maximise thermal properties has been one of the most significant investments that APS has ever made.  It is also one of the busiest departments within the company as it maintains stocks of mill finish aluminium window and door profiles. We also offer the fantastic dual colour service as is the red and white order.  Perhaps we will get to see some finished window photos at some stage.

If you were attending the Irish Open at Royal County Down in Newcastle this September, we think you will have noticed the new roof of the house next to the Slieve Donard Hotel. We’re confident it would have grabbed the attention of even the most seasoned golf professionals. This stunning sight is thanks to the installation of our APS Classic Slates, which look fantastic alongside other APS products, including Dry Fixed Ridge Kits, Ridge Tiles, Fascia, and Rainwater Products.  Make sure to have a peek next time you are nearby.

We were delighted to welcome Ireland’s First Lady of Country Music Susan McCann this week at APS along with husband Dennis who was looking at some of our range of products.  A good friend of our Grahame Malcolmson pictured here with Sheena and Susan. We really enjoyed meeting them and next time we will have to hear a few songs!

Many happy returns to our long time employee Grahame Malcomson well known and well respected in the marketplace for pvc window and door systems especially in ROI where he is mostly based. Also famous for his range of quality jokes that he is guilty of retelling on many occasions. He was pleasantly recently surprised when our business partners VEKA UK brought a birthday cake along to their meeting. Very kind and thoughtful. Grahame was really delighted. We are very proud to be associated with the recent construction of new student accommodation in Belfast.  We think that those settling into the new student accommodation at Bradbury Place are very fortunate.  The building designed by Rapport Architects and constructed by Mascott Construction contains over 150 bedrooms.  The design is a nod to the legacy of Belfast’s red brick warehouse architecture.  Various APS systems have been the preferred choice in the glazing of these to ensure maximum comfort and security.  This location is so close to Queen’s University (and very importantly the night life) and it is hoped it will invigorate Belfast’s Golden Mile.  We are really pleased to play our part in fulfilling all the freshers’ dream homes for the 2024/2025 year & we wish them well.

Ethan’s exciting winning streak continues in his APS sponsored sprint car at Kirkistown last weekend.  Impressive results from Ethan’s latest race last weekend at the British & Northern Ireland Sprint Championship. Fastest ever on full circuit layout for Class 14, a record that stood since 2011.  Huge congratulations Ethan

1st in Class 14  1st fast overall NI driver  2nd in British Champions (lost overall win by 0.4 seconds) Set and reset lap record for his class.

Everyone at APS is thrilled to congratulate John McCamphill from Ulster University School of Architecture, the winner of the 2023/2024 APS Award for the best project in “Design Creativity in the BIM module”. 

John was presented with the award and prize by our very own Kenny Faulkner at the end-of-year academic show earlier this summer. The event was a resounding success, attended by many who came to witness the exceptional work produced by the students.

The quality of the projects on display was impressively high, showcasing the hard work and creativity of the students. We extend our congratulations to John and all the students involved and wish them the best of luck in the next stages of their careers.

We are proud to continue our close association with the UU School of Architecture and look forward to more inspiring work in the future. Well done, everyone!

All the hard work certainly paid off as the End of Academic Year Show event at Ulster University School of Architecture was hailed as a resounding success by the high number in attendance. The work on show was produced to an exceptionally impressive and high standard. 

APS is proud to be closely associated with Ulster University School of Architecture through Contracts Manager Kenny Faulkner who gives guest lectures through the year. APS presented their annual award for best in “Design Creativity in the BIM module”.  This year’s winner was a well-deserved John McCamphill, seen here receiving his award and prize from our Kenny Faulkner.  Congratulations John.
