The Gallery Apartments, Belfast
The “Gallery” on the Dublin Road has received a lot of attention and with good reason. It is aptly named given that world-renowned artists and famous poets have lived and worked in the area for many years. Clarke and Whiteman Architects, Belfast designed the RICS award winning building which follows the Feng Shui concept, by leading expert Master San Wu. APS architectural aluminium systems have been used in the glazing of the building.
The project contains luxury apartments on the upper floors, which were in high demand and 4000 sq ft ground floor space accommodates a café-bar with six metre high floor to ceiling windows and an outdoor seating area. The building is defined by its attention to detail with a clever design to ensure plenty of light streams through to illuminate the quality of finish in each and every one of its 58 apartments and the cafe-bar. The extremely successful project has also been designed around high thermal and energy efficiency, incorporating the APS Logic 50 curtain walling system, AP100 therm+ polyamide window system, AP200 therm+ polyamide door system and APS SR200 Brise Soleil system.
The building’s owner is Northern Ireland’s property developer Gary McCausland and this project certainly exposes his eye for detail and market openings.
